INCIDENCE AND TREATMENT OF HYPOCALCEMIA IN CATTLE

Hypocalcemia, also known as milk fever or puerperal paresis, can occur in mature dairy cows, newly calved cows, cattle with high and medium milk production. It occurs around 24 to 48 hours after delivery, during which time calcium values decrease, which can be an aggravating factor and trigger other diseases.
